Here’s another average week’s worth of fedora updates. Theres some elementary package updates, one python update, and so on. Pretty boring stuff. There’s just a bit more noise than usual, because fedora 30 has been branched off from rawhide - so, where there usually were one or two updates per package, there are now two or three (or four).

fedora updates

Since the new libfixposix package is now available on all supported releases of fedora, I was able to update the sequeler SQL client to the latest version. It introduces the ability to connect to remote servers over SSH.

elementary packages

I updated the elementary Music application to the latest version, which was released this week. It brings better support for HiDPI screens and should fix controlling media playback via the media keys on fedora.

I updated the elementary GTK+ theme to the latest version, which includes multiple visual improvements.

The latest version of the elementary Calendar is a big one, and it will soon be available on fedora 29 and greater. It features improved importing of ICS files, makes calendars searchable, keyboard navigation, and overall code quality improvements.

Since the set of changes is larger than usual, I’ll let the update for fedora 29 sit in the testing repository for a while longer than the necessary seven days.

I updated the gala window manager to a newer git snapshot, which should fix saving screenshots to the clipboard, and starts to improve switching between different scaling factors (e.g. when attaching or detaching a “LoDPI” monitor or projector to a machine with a HiDPI screen).

The first bugfix release for the jsonschema package since version 3.0.0 was released this week, and it’s already available on fedora 30 and greater.
